FI-WEP Argentina is a non-political, non-religious organization that allows people from different cultures to get to know each other, exchange and learn. Sharing this experience allows us to grow and learn about tolerance, other places of the world and other ways of living.
THE ORGANISATION FI-WEP Argentina was established in 1993, with its head office in the city of Rosario. We have since been offering an exceptional educational experience, bringing particular and personalized care to our students and host families. Convinced of the value exchange programs represent in the education and personal development of youths, we have selected our staff and coordinators among professionals and university students who can counsel and bring support to the exchange students.
We believe these exchange programs are a unique learning opportunity - the students live new experiences every day. Consequently we strive to offer them unforgettable cultural and educational experiences, according to the chosen program and adapted to every student. |
PROGRAMS
Our goal is to offer quality exchange programs. This is why we listen carefully to our students and try to give them what they need to live a wonderful educational experience. To carry this out, our local coordinators communicate very often with students and host families and adapt the program to the students’ needs. We offer a variety of programs of which you will find a brief description below, so that you can choose the best adapted to you. Here we will give a short description. To know more about them, please, contact the Organization of your country.
• 3 Academic Months, Academic Semester Program and Academic Year Program: In these three different programmes the student attends a secondary school and lives with a voluntary host family. A local co-ordinator helps the student in this process.
• University Program: The student attends the University, lives with a voluntary host family and has his/her personal counselor. “It was very useful to me to know the university of another country. Especially because I at that time I was studying Spanish at the University and the level and working methods were different in Argentina. I’ve learnt more about other theories and writers, and of course, I’ve improved my spanish.”
• Argentina Panoramic: This program combines homestay with an Argentinean family, Spanish lessons, and the possibility to know a secondary school or a University and travel to tourist places. “To know another country in all its aspects, to know the best tourist places, but also the culture, living with an Argentinean family, is the best of my experiences with this program”
• Argentina Student: In this program the student shares the daily life with a Argentinean family and goes to a secondary school for a month. “It was the best way to spend my holidays. Culture and fun. In the school I got to know very nice people who showed me the entire city and the best places”
• Argentinean Farm Homestay: The student lives in a farm and participates in the daily activities. It is ideal for those looking for a farm work experience in the Pampas and desiring to practice Spanish in a productive context. “I started this program because I love nature. To my surprise, now I am learning a lot about the life-style in the farm and villages, how people spend a lot of time together here.”
• Help & Study Program: This program combines 4 hours of babysitting per day and 10 hours a week of Spanish courses. “Work and study in another country, I believe this is the best way to know a culture, acting from inside. I feel like an Argentinean, I work and I study here like they do.”
• Spanish Courses: This program allows students to rapidly learn Spanish with specialized teachers. “It’s so nice for me that I can practice Spanish all the time. I think that in only one month I will acquire an advance level.” STAFF

The majority of our coordinators are experienced secondary school teachers, who work on a daily basis with adolescents and receive special training to carry out their tasks as WEP coordinators. A team of 14 coordinators work for WEP Argentina.
The role of the coordinator Coordinators ensure that the exchange program is beneficial for all participants. They are in contact with the student, the host family, the school and the head office of WEP Argentina. Each coordinator is assigned to a city or village. The coordinators thus live in the same town or very close to each student. They are always present to help students with difficulties, counsel with choices or answer any questions that may arise. Their objective is to help students integrate in their town or village, to help them feel at home for the time of their stay. The coordinator will always be available to help and counsel when need be. Students can confide in them and find support at any time.
